Sparta Lichtenberg 6 - 2 FC Kickers Pufendorfer

31 January 2015 - 14:30 at Sparta Lichtenberg

After the Winter holidays, FCKP had it’s first friendly against Sparta Lichtenberg.

With temperatures nearing the 0 degrees, the conditions were not easy and the pitch was covered in snow.FCKP players showed dedication by coming to play within these conditions, and we were enough players  to ensure a full 11 a side game. Some injured players even came to cheer for our team  – thanks Ross!

This is the first time FCKP plays with the freshly arrived Away T-shirts – well received among the players!

This game was important in the way it got us all back together after a winter break. It was also nice to see new players along more ancient FCKP players. The atmosphere was a bit tense during the first half but things loosened up quickly once we started the second half of the match.

Unfortunately, the pitch, and harsh weather conditions only made FCKP players more vulnerable to counter attacks and long balls resulting in a 6-2 loss..
Learnings from this game:

  1. FCKP needs to get in shape again
  2. Snow covered pitches are not meant to be played on
  3. It’s good to see the motivation of FCKP players to play under such conditions
  4. Berlin has conquered Marian’s heart over The States
